Pretty Lily

Ok....... someone asked me lately if all I do is take picture after of picture of Lily. The answer...... I do take a lot but that isn't all we do.
I have been learning how to use my new camera and she thinks it is great fun to see each picture after I take it. You can imagine how long that takes. Hee hee
I don't mind it a bit. It is a lot of fun and helps me to see what I am doing right or wrong (wrong in most cases). Lily is such a sweetheart and tells me GOOD JOB MOM. Sometimes she even pats me on the back.

We happen to have shades in our kitchen window that are moving panels. They are great because we can move them as the sun blasts our breakfast table.
Well, Lily loves to hide behind them while moving them back and forth. The other day I just happened to snap her picture as she looked around one of the shades and she thought it was such fun. She said, "Take more pitchers mom".
I just snapped away as she played and then when she was done playing she said, "Gummie mom". Mind you I didn't bribe her for the pictures. She just assumed that taking pictures meant a gummy bear was in her future.

Latest Ty picture

We were so happy to start the day off with a few pictures of Ty. Another adoptive family made a visit to the orphanage yesterday and they were so kind to take pictures. This has been such a blessing to receive updated pictures and to have this bit of Ty's history.
It certainly helps us with the waiting!

When Lily saw this picture she said, "Ty baby eating candy". She just may be right.

Happy Flowers

It is SOOOOO cold here and I am NOT a fan of cold. I love all of the seasons except winter.
Winter and a little snow are fine during Christmas........ then I am ALL done with it. Anything under 60 is just too cold for me.
My dream address would include Hawaii where the temps change very little and flowers bloom all year.

Ok enough whining...... right?
Well, other than escaping to warmer climates the one thing that helps me to get through winter is fresh flowers. I know it might sound small but a vase of them on the counter does wonders for my winter blahs.
The ground can be covered with snow... the temperature might be 15 degrees... it might be gray outside but fresh flowers look so sunny and happy. Each time I look at them I forget that it feels like a deep freeze outside.
They also make for great pictures!!!!

So until my address says Hawaii this is what gets me through the winter.....

Pillows and pictures

Whenever I am making our bed Lily LOVES to jump in the pillows..... we seem to have plenty of them.
So...... today when I happened to notice how cute her Matilda Jane shirt looked with the pillows I ran to grab my camera. When I told her I was going to get my camera she said, "Bring Gummy Bear too".
Two gummy bears got me a lot of pictures today. She didn't mind the pictures a bit. She was jumping like crazy and having A LOT of fun. In fact, when I laughed too much she told me to settle down. Go figure!

This is right after she told me to settle down.

On a mission

Ok this isn't the best picture I've ever taken but I love the content.
As you can tell Miss Lily is on a mission. She was heading to the potty.

I guess she needed all of these essential items......

Some favorites

From the day Lily was put into our arms she has always been one to study everything. She looks at all of the tiny details and spends a lot of time figuring out how things work. It is one of the MANY things I love about her.
Some of my favorite Lily pictures are of these moments.....

(She just finished a blue lollipop so her lips are a tiny bit blue)

Lily Christmas Tree

I know Christmas is over !!! However, I took so many pictures in December that I thought it would be nice to post them.

Lily loved decorating her tree this year..... several branches had 4 or 5 balls on it. She wasn't interested in much help with the decorating process. She also didn't care for anyone touching the tree.
About the ornaments~
Some of her ornaments we brought back from China and I can't wait to get more this year. A few are from FCC (Families with Children from China) events. She also has a large collection of rooster ornaments (both she and Ty were born in the year of the rooster). A couple I found at Hallmark this year (the Chinese girl and the Chinese take out box).
In addition we have a family picture for each year (only 2 so far) and a Lily picture for each year. It is going to be so much fun to see the tree fill up each year with Lily and Ty pictures.

Ty Birthday pictures

Happy 2008 to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!
I think this is going to be a very exciting year!

Just before Christmas we received some pictures of Ty's 2nd birthday celebration (his birthday was October 15). What a wonderful Christmas gift it was to open the email with Ty birthday party pictures.

Through Blessed Kids we sent him a birthday party (cake and 2 disposable cameras). The pictures below are just a few of the adorable pictures the orphanage took for us. If you click on the collage you can see how decorated the cake was.

I'll be posting more Ty pictures and more Christmas pictures over the next week.
