The Dynamic Duo

Jeff and I love this picture.
Why?........I think we love it so much because they had no idea I was taking this and it looks like they are striking a pose.
They also look like they are from a different era with Ty's slicked hair, Lily's headband, and their outfits.

We could tell from day one that Lily and Ty were going to be quite the pair. You could just tell they were going to be a great duo.
It is no secret they went through a period of adjustment with each other. We had some rough days... we still do... and I am sure we will continue to have those days.
However, their relationship has changed so much in the last few weeks. They still fight like crazy and are so typical in that brother/sister aspect but they are becoming a team. They stick up for one another and would defend one another to the end.
Lily understands what Ty is saying when none of us can.
They can't stand to be apart for too long. They always know where the other is at.
Lily takes care of Ty and helps him with everything (probably too much sometimes). By the way he loves this!
Lily is the first person that Ty asks for each day.
They will actually play together now... which is so nice for Jeff and I.

CUTE STORY....
Today Lily and Ty were at the dining room table looking at their China albums (that is what they call them). Lily's is a toddler lifebook and Ty's is all the pictures we received of him before he came home.
They were sitting right beside each other and Lily was telling him where she is from and where he is from (while pointing to a map of China).
He must have been looking at a picture with children from his orphanage because I then heard Lily say, "Ty, those are your friends in China". She then said, "Don't be sad that you left them because you have Lily now".
I was in the other room listening to this and it brought tears to my eyes because she was right.
She is a blessing to him and he is to her.

First Kelleys Island trip for Ty

Each summer we LOVE to spend time on Kelleys Island (on Lake Erie).. well a few weeks ago Ty made his first visit. HE LOVED it as much as we all do. Lily was so excited to show Ty around and we all had a great time.
Grandma & Grandpa were there with us and that made things even more fun!

Now & Then

Lily's little friend Kayla (she is also our neighbor) gave this bike to Lily.
Let me just tell you.... SHE LOVES IT. She just takes off and thinks she is so cool. Now she even likes to wear her helmet.

When I saw her on this bike I had a quick flashback to October 2006 of her on a bike that our neighbors bought her.....
That picture is below...

Our little girl is growing up so fast....

Serious business with silly glasses

My dear friend Robin at Red Thread Stitches sent these adorable glasses to Lily and Ty.
Knowing Lily's love for sunglasses or any glasses she thought these would be a hit.
They sure are! They had no idea I was taking this picture... hee hee
They were so serious I couldn't resist sneaking in a picture. The minute they caught me they started to laugh.

A princess with 6 crowns

Miss Lily did wonderful today.
We woke her up at 5:45am (2-3 hours before her normal waking up). She was surprisingly happy and wanted to make sure I put two hair ponies in (ponytails) and that she had her pink barrettes to match her pink crocs. OH MY........
She was in the car by 6:05am.
Her surgery started around 7:30am and we were home with her SIX new crowns at 9:30am.
(apparently she needed more than they thought)

Today was sort of a Dora Marathon. It was raining outside which made the being inside even better. Ty was delighted to watch show after show with Lily.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!!!!!!

Lily Surgery

This is one of my all time favorite Lily pictures.
I took this with my new lens that Jeff, Lily, & Ty bought me for my birthday and Mother's Day.
Lily had no idea I was taking this. I was standing in the kitchen and she was out on the swing set.
She was climbing and sliding like crazy and then decided she needed a little break.

Tomorrow Miss Lily has 4 crowns put on her back teeth. The dentist says this is from lack of good nourishment as a baby. Many adoptive parents have told me they went through this with their children. The procedure is an outpatient surgical procedure at Children's Hospital. She will have general anesthesia.... thank goodness because I can't imagine how many people it would take to hold her down for 4 crowns. I know this isn't a huge surgery but we are praying it is as painless as possible and over quickly (for Lily, Mom, and Dad).

Ty Baby!!!!!!!! He is such a little sweetie!
He loves the new swing set and he loves to have his picture taken.
